Linnea Ryshke (American, born in 1993) creates mixed-media paintings and drawings that seek to restore the value of nonhuman animals as kindred beings worthy of our adoration, respect and empathy. Her artworks invite viewers to honor the enigmatic subjectivity of the fellow creatures with whom we share this earth-home. With her M.F.A. in Visual Art from Washington University in St. Louis, she has been exhibited nationally and this past September released her first book of poetry, photographs and artworks with Lantern Publishing and Media, titled Kindling.
